OPLayer HD and Dropbox

OPlayer plays almost any file formats in your iDevice, no need to spend several hours to convert your videos.

OPLayer HD and Dropbox

Postby dom5885 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 8:02 am

I have a 3rd generation iPad, iOS 5.1, OPlayer HD 2.0.02, Dropbox App 1.4.6

When I attempt to 'Add Server' and select 'Dropbox' and then press 'Sign in', the Dropbox app starts with the message that "OPlayer wants access to your Dropbox." (with my dropbox email address under that message). I select the 'Allow' option and I am then in the Dropbox app.

What do I do next in order that 'Dropbox' will appear under the 'My Documents' and 'Open URL" entries in the list of File Servers? I am assuming this is the desired result of the preceding steps.

Thanks,
David

Sign out from Dropbox app, then sign in from OPlayer.
or just close Dropbox app from task bar, and sign in from OPlayer.

Then access Dropbox under File Servers in OPlayer to download files.

Thank you for your reply.

After a successful addition of Dropbox to the OPlayer File Servers, am I expected to see the following under the File Servers heading?

1. My Documents
2. Open URL
3. Dropbox

If so, then I have a problem somewhere because once I 'allow' OPlayer access to my Dropbox, I am placed in the Dropbox app and I cannot find a way to return to OPlayer so that I can use the 'Save' button in the 'Add Dropbox' window.
In fact, regardless of whether I 'cancel' or 'allow' Oplayer access to my Dropbox, I remain stuck in Dropbox.

I tried both your suggestions, but I still end up stuck as per the previous paragraph.

Am I misunderstanding the relationship between OPlayer and Dropbox?

Regards,
David

I turned the iPad off and then turned it on.

This time the attempt to add the Dropbox Server worked!

I now have 'Dropbox' appearing in my list of File Servers (under 'Open URL').

However, when I touch/select any of the items (mov, avi, pdf, jpg etc) in the Dropbox the icon next to the name turns green but nothing else happens.

That is, pictures don't display, movies don't play, PDFs don't display.

Me or the App?

David

There is a download button directly after the file name.

Thanks for you patience....

My old eyes had not noticed the download button to the far right of the file name!
