TV-out on iPad and iPhone don't behave the same way

OPlayer plays almost any file formats in your iDevice, no need to spend several hours to convert your videos.

TV-out on iPad and iPhone don't behave the same way

Postby Fardilha » Wed Apr 18, 2012 3:21 pm

Hello there.

I recently bought OPlayer HD to be able to stream some movies to my iPad.

My setup is:
Mac mini running Lion server with some SMB shares.
iPad 2 with iOS 5.1 (stock, no JB)
Apple Composite AV Cable to connect the iPad to the TV.

Under OPlayer I turned on both the TV-Out option and the QuickTime plugin option.

With this setup it works really well, decent stream speed, fast browse of my SMB shares, proper sync between audio, video and subtitles on my TV.

So I was so confident with this that I decided to buy the iPhone version of OPlayer.
Simillar setup, same options in OPlayer prefereces, just an iPhone 4S (again ios 5.1 and no JB) and the proper version of OPlayer for it.

But as soon as I start playing anything it simply freezes!
I don't know if anyone else is having this sort of problem but I could really use some help.
So, please, any ideas regarding this are more than welcome.

Thanks!

I forgot to mention that both the video app from the system, for local movies, and Media:Connect for connection with DLNA servers work normally well on the iPhone.

Did you play with the native media format?
remember to open quicktime plugin in the settings page of OPlayer for these file format.

Hi again.

Yes I did have the QuickTime option on.
And I was using a SD .m4v file.

This is a plugin from apple, so the performance is also decided by device.
